About Volunteering |
Meet the team.
The bureau is committed to equal opportunities for staff and clients and welcomes volunteers from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexuality or disability. We are looking for volunteers to advise, do administration and to be on the management committee.
Training for advisers normally takes 6-12 months and is a nationally approved training system. The training is supported by a guidance tutor in the bureau and by attending 5 days on a training course. The training is free, and any expenses that are incurred during training with the bureau are refunded. This can be costs incurred by travel, childcare, etc.
What the bureau asks in return is that you commit a dedicated amount of time to the bureau. Somewhere between 6- 8 hours per week. The bureau does not require you to have any experience in advice work or any qualifications, but does want their volunteers to be willing to continue to learn, even after their initial training, to be a good listener, to enjoy helping others and to support equal opportunities.
If you feel that you want to volunteer and help your community, or if you just want a chat and to ask some questions before deciding if you want to volunteer, then please call us at your closest office, Skegness on 01754 761141, Louth on 01507 609279 or Mablethorpe on 01507 478937.
