Receptionist/Information Assistant

The receptionist/information assistant is the principal link between the public and the bureau.

This role would suit people who are friendly and welcoming and able to deal with all sorts of individuals in an impartial and non-judgemental way. Our receptionists/information assistants must be able to remain calm under pressure and be able to provide reassurance to clients who are distressed or angry. Receptionists/information assistants will need to:

  • Greet clients and make them feel comfortable.
  • Help clients find leaflets or look up information for themselves on the internet.
  • Provide information about the Citizens Advice Bureau service to clients.
  • Keep records.
  • Make appointments and referrals.
  • Provide assistance to advisers when requested (photocopying, finding leaflets, typing etc).
